ANALISIS IMPERATIVE SENTENCES DAN KUALITAS TERJEMAHANNYA DALAM SUBTITLE FILM KUNGFU PANDA I
Abstract
This research is conducted to analyze imperative sentences in film Kungfu Panda I. The aims of this research are to describe: (1) the kinds of imperative sentences, (2) the translation techniques are used to translate film Kungfu Panda I, (3) the impacts of translation quality in subtitle film Kungfu Panda I.This research is a descriptive-qualitative research. The sources of data are documents, the informants who assessed the quality of translation. The data in this research are imperative sentences in film Kungfu Panda I and information about the translation quality who given to the informants. The technique of collecting involved document analysis, questionnaire and interview.It is found out the kinds of imperative sentences towards in that film are: (1) infinitive without to, (2) refusing forms with do not + infinitive + complement, (3) imperative form with do in the face of the sentence, (4) imperative form with the question tag. Majority of imperative sentences used “infinitive without to” the most used in that film, as the result of frequency and percentage showed that “infinitive without to” used as much as 74 or 88.09%, it is different from the other kinds of imperative sentences, which is only slightly used in the film Kungfu Panda I.The techniques were used in the film Kungfu Panda I is 6 techniques, the techniques are: literal, reduction, established equivalent, linguistics conversion, linguistics amplification and borrowing technique. Majority the technique of established equivalent is the most dominant used in translating film Kungfu Panda I, as the result of analysis data showed that the technique of established equivalent as 64 or 76.47%. It is different with the other techniques.The finding of the data showed that majority the kinds of imperative sentence which used infinitive without to and the translation technique of established equivalent also has positive contribution towards the translation quality of imperative sentence in subtitle film Kungfu Panda I which is transferred to the target language.
